Looking Back: Paper Mosaic Workshop in the Netherlands

What a joyful experience it was once again! During my recent NEW!!! Paper Mosaic workshop in the Netherlands, beautiful and colorful works were created, all using just paper/cardboard, paint, and a generous dose of creativity.

For many participants, it was a surprise to see how playful and powerful you can be with such simple materials. We started with intuitive painting , a challenge at first, because the goal wasn’t to create a masterpiece but rather to let go of all expectations and rules. From there, everyone created their own ‘tesserae’ by cutting, combining, and shifting until the composition started to feel just right.

There was plenty of room for personal style, inspiration, and variation. Beginners and experienced makers alike went home with a unique artwork and fresh ideas for future projects.

It’s the perfect mix of learning new techniques and giving your creativity full permission to run wild.

You’ll leave with new ideas, new skills, and maybe even a new art obsession or two.

Cape Town, South Africa – 3.5-day Workshop2 to 8 November 2025 Join me in my own studio near Cape Town, where I’ll guide you through a bold and joyful exploration of mosaic, beads, paint, and mixed media. Think color, texture, rhythm, and how to bring those elements together in your own unique way. 

Apart from that, we visit lots of art-related galleries and spaces, wine farms, and art studio’s as well as a few tourist destinations with a personal touch.

This course is ideal for complete beginners and experienced makers. Beginners will learn solid foundations and playful techniques. More advanced students often use this course as a creative add-on to their current work or practice, discovering fresh applications and renewed inspiration.

These workshops are more than just courses; they’re spaces to recharge, experiment, connect, and reignite your creative spark. You’ll walk away with new skills, fresh energy, and a head full of ideas for future projects, hobbies, or even new directions in your art practice.
