South Hill Vineyards Elgin South Africa
Exhibition opens on Sunday 13th October 2019 at 11h00
Exhibition runs until the end of February 2020
As Winter thaws into Spring, what was dormant begins to wake: barren to budding, languid to lush. This phase between seasons is a sensorial blur of natural contrasts, a meeting ground for juxtaposed textures, shapes and colour.
At South Hill Vineyards this is represented in the environment that surrounds us: in the bustle of pre-season preparation and the tranquillity of vineyard views; in the complexity of winemaking and the ease of drinking a glass in the evening; and in the unrefined mountain ranges that loom over us and the neat rows of cultivated land we farm.
In art, as in nature, contrasting colours and textures collide and blur. This exhibition is a representation of the artists’ interpretation of this meeting ground between natural contrasts.
